Well, it started with a beading class. We got to choose our own beads, and were shown how to crimp them onto a strand of tiger tail, to make a simple necklace. I stocked up on some basic tools and materials, and pretty soon I was dreaming designs. Pretty soon after that I was drowning in them. So I started selling them on TradeMe. As well as buyers, TradeMe opened up a new world of sellers.

 

With COVID changing the world as we know it, it has been good to focus again on supporting local businesses, and looking at new ways to work, and live. It has given me the opportunity to look at what I want kayree to be after fifteen years, and the time to develop that vision into what I hope can be a thriving business - built on a shared passion for affordable, handcrafted jewellery.
